Lawn Mowing

During the growing season (April-October), we recommend weekly mowing for optimal lawn health. Bi-weekly service works for slower-growing lawns or those with irrigation. We adjust frequency based on grass growth rate and weather conditions.

We follow the "one-third rule" - never removing more than one-third of the grass blade at once. For cool-season grasses common in Ohio, we typically maintain 3-3.5 inch heights in spring/fall and 3.5-4 inches in summer to help grass cope with heat stress.

We avoid mowing wet grass when possible as it can damage the lawn and equipment. If rain is expected, we may reschedule to the next available day. We always communicate schedule changes promptly.

Weekly service is the norm during peak growing season, and the schedule can stretch out as growth slows. We adjust the cadence with the season rather than mowing on autopilot.

Lawn size, how often we visit, terrain and obstacles, gate access for equipment, and whether clippings are bagged or mulched. Recurring schedules typically price better per visit than one-off cuts.

Both options are available. Mulching clippings back into the lawn returns nutrients and is our default; bagging is available when clippings are heavy or you prefer the cleanest possible finish.

Light dew is usually fine, but we avoid mowing saturated lawns — cutting wet turf can tear grass, clump clippings, and rut soft ground. After heavy rain we shift your visit rather than damage the lawn.
